Chalmers University of Technology (Chalmers tekniska högskola) is a prestigious private research university in Gothenburg, Sweden, founded in 1829.

It specialises in engineering, science, architecture and technology, offering strong cross-disciplinary and industry-linked programmes.

With about 11,000 students and over 3,200 staff, Chalmers is recognised for impactful research in areas such as quantum technology, graphene applications, and sustainability. Its two main campuses—Johanneberg and Lindholmen—provide a vibrant academic environment in the heart of Gothenburg.

Main tasks in SPACER

Chalmers supervises 2 doctoral students within SPACER, working on electrodes modelling. The doctoral students use 3D imaging and advaced computer modelling to study how porous electrodes work at the microscopic scale. The models will show how their structure affects performance, heat flow, and stability, helping design better materials.

Dario Maggiolo

»At Chalmers, we joined the SPACER doctoral network to apply our expertise in microscopic transport phenomena to the development of advanced flow batteries. Collaborating across disciplines and training the next generation of scientists makes this project especially meaningful.«
